A Day made of Glass

A day made of glass. Truly awesome!

But there is something even more awesome that is coming. It is not a day on earth in glass. It is an eternity in heaven in “glass.” It is living not in this world but in the New Jerusalem. If Corning shows us the immediate future of city living in this video, God already showed John the distant future of eternal city living. God “showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. It gleamed with the splendor of God. Its radiance was like that of a precious stone, like jasper, clear as crystal.” (Rev 21:10-11). John continues: “the city was pure gold, clear as glass. … and the street of the city was of pure gold, transparent as glass.” (Rev 21:18,21).

In that holy city Jerusalem we will worship God eternally. We will stand in the throne room of God in “something that resemble(s) a sea of glass like crystal.” (Rev 4:6). For those who have lived victorious Christian lives, John describes this vision: “Then I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire. On the sea of glass were standing those who had won the victory over the beast …” (Rev 15:2).

Ezekiel had a similar vision. He saw the cherubim in the throne room of God. “Over the heads of the living creatures, something like a firmament could be seen, seeming like glittering crystal” (Ez 1:22).

So enjoy today’s technology, which is truly awesome. But know that what you see on earth is nothing compared to what you will see and experience in heaven. Look forward to finally meeting up with the One who is the source of all this technology. He is the awesome Almighty God.
